14 DAY TRIAL // Though best friends wouldn’t usually let a woman tear them apart, in the universe created by director McG, this clearly doesn’t apply. The first trailer for “This Means War” is finally out, offering a glimpse into said universe.
Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, two of the most handsome and sought after actors of the day, play two of the deadliest CIA agents.
They’re also partners and the best of friends – that is, until they accidentally learn they’re dating the same woman, played by Reese Witherspoon.
Because no one wants to be “the better man” and give up, both turn everything they know and every weapon in their arsenal against the other, all in a bid to win the girl’s heart.
Useless to say, the plot is dumb because it leaves plenty of questions unanswered – the most poignant being how come they can kill other people, blow up cars and wreck restaurants in their mad contest and not be held accountable.
Nevertheless, even if this turns out to be yet another mindless rom-com, at least it has 3 gorgeous leads and awesome action / fight scenes.
