The name GOrb II is surprisingly fitting, given the shape

We've seen more than our fair share of laptop coolers, but most of them looked like slabs of metal or fan-equipped stands.

Thermaltake is shaking things up a bit by releasing a cooler that looks like an orb cut in half.

Aptly dubbed "GOrb II laptop cooler," it can keep the heat off the underside of notebooks in 10-inch to 17-inch sizes.

While the fans in both halves of the orb chill the hotter parts, the cooling gap created under the laptop helps too.

Normally, laptops get hot because the heat given off by the hardware, and which radiates from the underside, doesn't have any way to escape. This will not be the case here.

GOrb II gets its energy from a USB connection but, fortunately, doesn't clutter everything with cables.

No price or availability details were included in the press release, sadly.
