Apple is on track to bless the Enterprise industry with a massive new iPad model whose display reportedly measures more than 12 inches on the diagonal. Dubbed iPad Pro, and sometimes iPad Air Plus by the media, this new device is expected to directly rival Samsung's 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro.

Uploaded to the Chinese version of Twitter (Sina Weibp), a picture showing a metal mold is accompanied by rumors that this particular piece of hardware is being used by Foxconn to carve out the chassis for the iPad Pro.

Apple uses these types of molds a lot, not just for iPads, but also for iPhones and Macs. In fact, the company is renowned for using “machining” technology to make outstanding unibody enclosures for its devices, and this picture fits the bill.

iPad Pro dimensions

Experts analyzing the photo say the device should have the following dimensions: 305.31 mm x 220.8 mm x 7 mm. iPad Air 2 measures 240 mm x 169.5 mm x 6.1 mm. Needless to point out, the difference in size is substantial.

It’s important to note that there is currently no confirmation regarding the veracity of this image. However, considering that Apple is said to be targeting a launch in the first half of the year, it shouldn’t be too farfetched to imagine that trial production is already underway.
