This may come in handy as a tip for those of you who want to come out as good-looking as possible in pictures. Scientists have demonstrated that photos taken from the left are consistently rated as being better-looking than those taken from the right.

In other words, your left cheek looks better than the right one, and depicts you in a more favorable light. This was demonstrated in experiments conducted by experts at the Wake Forest University.

They asked test subjects to look at a number of photos, taken either from the right or the left. The team found that images depicting the left cheek were rated higher than those showing the right one.

“Our results suggest that posers’ left cheeks tend to exhibit a greater intensity of emotion, which observers find more aesthetically pleasing,” the WFU team writes in the latest issue of the journal Experimental Brain Research, according to Science Blog.
