Capcom defines the survival-horror genre on Apple handhelds

Capcom has announced the release of Resident Evil: Degeneration for iPhone and iPod touch. Fans of the survival-horror genre will be pleased to learn that the title is based on the movie with the same name. Immediately available for download via the App Store, Resident Evil: Degeneration costs $6.99 and requires an iPhone or iPod touch running 2.1 software update.

According to Capcom's description of the game, players take control of Leon S. Kennedy, equipped with an arsenal of bone-shattering weapons, which they must combine and use to fight off hordes of zombies. Resident Evil: Degeneration utilizes the accelerometer functionality to the max, featuring high-resolution 3D graphics and intuitive, context-sensitive, Multi-Touch controls. The gamer's view is from a third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective.

Renowned worldwide developer, publisher and distributor of video games for the mass market, Capcom is responsible for popular console and PC games including famous series such as Street Fighter, Mega Man and Devil May Cry. The developer maintains operations in various territorries across the U.S., Europe and Asia, and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
