Comes in two versions

As regular mobile phones are trimming down their sizes to fit into mere and more compact cases, walkie talkies have also left behind the old, rugged look for a slender and more stylish one. Boost Mobile has just released the slimmest such device, under the name of Motorola i425.

The phone comes in two versions, the i425e and i425t, although they differ only through the design's trim. They both bring the same performances, such as Wireless Web, Text and Multi-Media Messaging, AOL, Yahoo! and MSN Instant Messaging Capable. Moreover, they also support Java Enabled Games and Applications, Real Music, Polyphonic and Voice Ringtones. If this is not enough for making them look highly similar to regular mobile phones, then the Voice-Activated Dialing, GPS Enabled, VibraCall Alert and 600 Entry Phonebook sure manage to do so.

"The top reason consumers purchase a Boost Mobile Pay-As-You-Go phone is for the Walkie-Talkie feature and we're bringing it back with the slimmest Walkie-Talkie enabled handset on the market", said Neil Lindsay, Vice President of Product Management, Boost Mobile.

If the small size is not impressive, then how about the fact that "The Boost i425 packaging is made up of the same type of recyclable material found in most soda and water bottles enabling us to offer our customers a more eco-friendly purchase option", said Lindsay. "Every little bit helps when it comes to the environment and with 92% of youth trendsetters viewing the environment as the #1 issue that is personally important to them, our goal is to have all Boost phone packaging made from 100% recycled material", she further added.

Both iDEN phones will be available from now on with USD5 of Boost Pay-As-You-Go service at the price of USD 40. They can be purchased from Boost Mobile's website or at local wireless dealers.
