Since newer and stronger hardware is constantly getting released, it makes sense that better and more efficient power supplies would be developed as well, and Thermaltake has just unveiled its newest ones.

As end-users probably know, Advanced Micro Devices just unleashed its newest collection of video cards, the same way Corsair released new high-end DDR3 memory.

Specifically, AMD delivered the Radeon HD 6970 and HD 6950 graphics cards while Corsair produced a Dominator GT 4GB DDR3 kit.

With Intel and AMD also preparing new CPUs, many consumers may set up new systems altogether.

Wanting to provide said customers with power supplies that are both effective and reasonably efficient, Thermaltake has reportedly prepared the TR2 PSU series.

In fact, it would be more accurate to say that the outfit expanded an existing series, the aforementioned TR2, with several new members.

Said new members are models with power outputs of 380W, 450W, 500W, 600W, 700W and 800W, respectively.

They all have an efficiency of up to 88%, which has granted them the 80Plus Bronze rating.

The 80Plus rating systems is the primary criteria that determines how efficient a PSU is and, while 80Plus Bronze is the lowest ranking, it takes quite a bit of efficiency to even reach even this level.

The newcomers do not have a modular design and come with a single 12V rail, as well as a 120mm fan and 105 degrees Celsius Japanese main capacitors.

Other specifications include protection against over voltage, over power, under voltage, short circuit and over current.

All in all, they seem to have been designed as products that place as much emphasis on affordability as they do on power and efficiency.

The only detail so far not revealed is the pricing scheme, although it shouldn't be too long until online stores start listing the products.
