It may not be wireless, but it will make heat a bit more bearable

We can't say we've been suffering from a shortage of weird gadgets, but there never seems to be too many of them. At least Thermaltake doesn't think so.

What the company did was launch a mouse unlike any other made before, and we aren't referring to performance and shape here.

Instead, what caught our eye was the item mounted on the front right side: a 30-millimeter fan (1.18 inches).

We should clarify that this is not the first mouse with a built-in fan. It is, however, the first to have said spinner mounted on the outside. The initial sighting was back in May, but Thermaltake has now added the product page of the Tt eSports Element Cyclone gaming mouse to its official website, suggesting that mass production will ramp up sooner rather than later.

Find and peruse it here, but don't expect to find a price or an availability date.

At least we know that noise won't be too much of a problem. Even though the maximum speed of the fan is high, the small size and bearing keep the noise output at 21.7 dB. The fan can spin at up to 6,000 RPM (rotations per minute) and, should its services be unnecessary, it can be detached easily.

Unfortunately, there might be a problem in that the air won't reach the palm, even though the top of the hand will be cooled well enough.

Thermaltake chose to name its newest creation Tt eSports Element Cyclone gaming mouse. The only feature not included is wireless connectivity, but that is understandable. A battery would not have been able to fuel the mouse and the fan all on its own, not without expending itself too quickly to be practical.

Fortunately, many gamers stay right in front of their monitors instead of lounging on a couch, so the reliance on cables is not such a big deal.
