Square Enix has revealed a few more details regarding the soon-to-release Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call rhythm video game, along with three new gameplay videos.

The game is based on the Final Fantasy role-playing video game franchise, and its gameplay mainly involves using the touch screen to the beat of various tracks from the series, tracks that currently number over 200, as Siliconera reports.

Gamers take control of four Final Fantasy characters, select one of the games in the series and start their adventure. Each game has three stages, field, battle and event, and each stage features different game mechanics.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will feature a ton of songs and characters from the main titles in the Final Fantasy series, but will also include some characters from Final Fantasy Type-0. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Type-0 will also have special scenes to go with their tracks.

The new game will play in a similar manner to how the old one does, with a few gameplay additions such as critical hits and a Daily Feature track that will give 50 percent more Rhythm Points upon completion.

Gamers will fill their EX Burst Gauge by hitting the notes on beat, and once full, the gauge will allow them to pick from nine different EX Burst skills that can severely impact the outcome of Versus games.

Users will now be able to randomly select a track to play, find their favorite songs by clicking the heart marks, and there will also be a quick-start feature that allows players to jump straight into a song from the data select screen.

Some field-music stages will have special airship versions, where players will be able to see various iconic in-game vehicles in the background, such as Cid's Highwind, from Final Fantasy VII.

Numerous pieces of monster concept art have also been revealed, along with a handful of in-game screenshots, and the full gallery is available on NeoGAF.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will be coming out on April 24, 2014, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
