Yesterday, two Gigantic 500x white iPod Earbuds (that are supposed so sit on your desk as speakers for your Mac) were declared "Not a Joke". While that remains to be confirmed, the thodio iBox surely deserves more attention. 5 mm (beech, oak, teak, zebrano or mahogany) case, 2 x 25 Watt solid state amplifier and 2 Focal Polyglass 100CV1 full range speakers. What more could you want?

You can carry it anywhere too, as it's portable (check out the nifty handles) and battery-powered as well. No AC adapter fuss either, since the battery pack sports a built-in rechargeable 15-hour battery pack, with a 149 euro Bluetooth option for completely wireless operation, also being available, according to retrothing.com.

Best of all, the iBox is handmade out of the upper-mentioned variety of woods, and it shows. Just check out the image to the top left side of this piece. The iBox starts at 359 euros "for a painted MDF version" and can go for as much as 549 euro "for a deluxe finish with 7 layers of scratch-proof gloss finish and UV protection," as the same source confirms.

Needless to say, they're stylish, but not for everyone. Sure, they're perfect for a blackout during a party, but not so perfect for a real party. I reckon you'd need at least three of these to get the windows trembling and that's only if you live in a flat. Then again, a person spending 359 euro x 3 on sound equipment doesn't live in a flat.

The iBox looks great though. Don't try looking for more specs on it, because everything you need to know about it is written above. A good sound system doesn't necessarily have to sport tons of features, but few user-friendly ones that concern power supply and fidelity, and the Box is proud to confirm it's got them all.
