If you though that only military guys get the chance of playing with cool UAVs then you are pretty much mistaken as the outrageously James Bondish, easy-to-use flying camera, GPS controlled, swinglet CAM seems to prove.

I have to admit that after laying eyes on the demo video provided by senseFly for its winglet CAM unmanned air vehicle I was pretty much blown away as this rather small, all black flying wing really managed to impress me with its GPS control software and easy operation.

And most certainly this is what it will happen to you too, after watching the enclosed video that is, the swinglet CAM coming as a full autonomous air vehicle, that uses a specially designed software, called ”e-mo-tion,” so you can define the path or GPS coordinates that you want this flying wing to follow live right from your laptop, the swinglet CAM taking detailed 12MP pictures along the way.

Once senseFly's creation will finish its mission, this flying wing will land for itself, with no user intervention required, its battery pack offering up to 30 minutes of use.

Furthermore, the senseFly can operate in winds of up to 25km/h, while also coming with an effective range of up to 20km, its speed varying between 30 and 50km/h depending on the available flying conditions.

When it comes down to the supplied accessories, the swinglet come packed inside a black and aluminum gray carrying case together with a rechargeable battery and charger, a radio modem that can operate up to 2km, remote control (for experts of remote flying only), and software for flight planning and monitoring.

A Pro version is also available that bundles a semi-rugged notebook together with all the accessories mentioned above, making this immediately ready to be operated.

Unfortunately, pricing for the swinglet CAM was not mentioned, but don't expect this to come cheaply. (via likecool)
