Microsoft has clear advantage in the battle of the next generation gaming consoles. Being the first to launch its new Xbox 360, Microsoft is aware that the price of this new gaming console it also a very important factor in the success equation.

At E3, both Sony and Microsoft unveiled the next generation of their video games consoles, but neither one of them didn't say anything about the price.

As you already know Xbox 360 will include a three-core processor by IBM, 512 MB of RAM, a custom video card by ATI and a detachable hard drive.

According to those specs, Xbox 360 may have a price around $380. The current generation of Xbox launched for $299 and analysts think that is the highest price consumers will pay for a video gaming console.

Microsoft is aware of that price and in a recent interview for TheStreet.com, Microsoft Corporate Vice President J. Allard said that the Xbox 360 would retail in the neighborhood of $300, although the final decision had not yet been made.

At E3, Sony announced that the price for PlayStation 3 will be $465. According to GameShout new information appears that Sony would launch the Sony PS3 at the same price point it launched the Sony PS2. This would mean a price around $370.
