People who expected Apple to unveil an iWatch on September 1 rejoice! They did, only it took the product a couple of weeks to emerge as an actual watch. Meet the Incipio Linq, an iPod nano 6G accessory that fastens the player onto your wrist, turning it into an iWatch.

The sixth-gen iPod nano brings a flurry of changes, starting with the player’s design, and ending with the way users control the device.

It lacks the physical controls needed for playback functions, but it leverages the power of Multi-Touch via a small screen.

Some may say it’s the perfect combination between the shuffle and nano lines of iPods.

Among the various cool functions it boasts, the sixth-gen nano also has a watch-styled screen-saver which makes the player perfect for wearing as a watch on your wrist.

Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) himself said that one of his fellow Apple execs was wearing the device as a watch.

Incipio didn’t waste any time in capitalizing on the new addition and immediately rolled out an accessory that allows users to strap the nano on to their wrist.

“Incipio is taking a whole new design path with this wrist-worn carrying solution for the iPod nano. Meet the most rugged carrying solution for iPod nano produced to date, the Linq,” the company announced.

“This is for users who already have or aspire for a lifestyle of action. Linq provides the user with an all-day, everyday accessory that may be worn effortlessly but always boldly,” it adds.

Incipio explains that “The Linq design was born from the logical ‘link’ between the idea of the iPod nano existing simultaneously as a timepiece and a media player.”

“Linq is your ultimate watch, built to endure a rugged lifestyle. Your once fragile iPod nano is not so fragile anymore as it sits in Incipio's award winning Next Generation Polymer material securing to the wrist with a nylon and Velcro interchangeable strap,” the maker of iPod accessories notes.

Incipio believes that this carrying option is the perfect solution for users who want to keep all functions of the nano close at hand, literally speaking.

“Now you can wear your 6th generation iPod nano all day, everyday without a hint of it ever being worn (or torn),” Incipio concludes.
