No matter the competition, the iPod holds the banner high!

For me, the iPod is an audio player from another world - its design and quality make me day dream about having one, and the only reason I am not getting such a "toy" is that - at this time - I wouldn't use it as much as I wanted to. How did they do it is not the problem, but I think learning some facts about the current status of this little big gadget on the market would be an interesting thing to do right now...

Microsoft's Zune hit the markets already and has joined the other crusaders trying to conquer iPod's realm, but the results are rather disappointing, and I am not the one to tell that without a serious backup, so here you have the facts...

A recent survey says that the iPod is the almighty player today, being recommended by 70 percent of the retailers. While the Creative Zen or the Sundisk Sansa are players going up due to their interesting features and competitive prices, the iPod stays up because it looks unique and sounds great, despite the fact that some retailers say that the iPod's price is not one of its strong points.

When it comes to the 30GB players, neither Microsoft nor Apple have any advantage, since the prices are pretty close, but if you ask me, I would choose an iPod with absolutely no second thoughts.

Although it seems Microsoft lost it this time, I can hardly wait to see if they take their chances and compete with Apple on the cell phone market. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with that, but after seeing the Zune, this really makes me wonder about the shape of a possible future Microsoft phone...
