It took them one month and a half

After weeks of efforts and the determination of some hackers, it looks like the iPhone has been fully unlocked. AT&T might need a shoulder to cry on, as the device now works with SIM cards from any carrier and is still operating at full capabilities.

Some previous methods of unlocking the iPhone also came with several drawbacks. The user had to accept the fact that several important functions of the smartphone had to be lost during the process, which made the choice of making this step somewhat difficult and less appealing.

The new solution found on the Bladox forums is highly more efficient. People reporting to have tried it stated the fact that their devices are fully operational. This means that they have access to all the functions while using AT&T's services. They can use the phone's EDGE, SMS, incoming and outgoing calls at top performances.

The new solution asks for the phone to be previously activated with the AT&T SIM card. The user will also need a Turbo SIM and several applications to be run on the smartphone. They have to go through a setup, using this type of SIM, which they will have to later replace with any other one coming from telecom operators.

The entire operation will cost the user only USD 80. That sum is considerably lower than what AT&T's large data plans ask from the iPhone user and will prove to be a long time investment with high chances of paying off.

The new unlocking solution comes after great efforts coming from hackers worldwide to break the "wonder phone". No images of this actually working have been reported until now, which still leaves the matter of a doubt over the iPhone's hacking. Those who try this method to unlock their handset do so at their own risk, as we have not tried it and can not account for it.
