The next operating system for smartphones, that will replace the actual version Windows Mobile 2003 SE, will be Windows Mobile 2005 (Magneto), with a QVGA screen (240x320 pixels).

However, no company has yet released a device that takes advantage of this feature. That may soon change if a Taiwanese company named NewGen can get the D2000W on the market in the near future.

According to iDNES.cz, the design of this phone it will be a traditional tablet design, it will sport a keypad that is exposed when the display slides up. The QVGA screen is a common feature for Pocket PCs, but in the case of DW2000 phone the display won't be a touchscreen.

Even though this device will have a QVGA screen, like many Pocket PCs, this won't be a touchscreen. The smart phone form the Taiwanese company will be based on Intel XScale PXA272 processor running at 400 MHz.

In terms of connectivity, the device will support tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz), which makes it compatible with both GSM and GPRS. The Wi-Fi is another feature of the phone, but the producer decided to not include Bluetooth, which is quite strange for a smartphone.

Instead, NewGen has added another unsual feature: a built-in FM radio. Like most smartphones, it will have a camera, in this case a 1.3 megapixel on, but what is quite impressive is that this phone includes 128 MB of memory, plus a miniSD slot for extra storage.

The dimensions of the phone are 93 mm long by 48 mm wide by 24 mm thick and it will weigh 92 g. According to NewGen it will last for up to 4 hours of talk-time or 100 hours of stand-by time.

The only thing is that any comments are available about the release date or the price.
