So says Aaron Greenberg

The Xbox 360 is today one of the most popular consoles, largely due to the fact that it has a low price tag, a big library of titles and that it was the first next-generation platform to appear on the market. But its life hasn't been the smoothest, due to a lot of hardware problems, with a big number of users seeing the three red lights appear on the start button of the console, symbolizing a general system failure.

“Affectionally” dubbed the Red Ring of Death, after the Blue Screen of Death errors that plague Microsoft's Windows PC operating systems, this problem was very frequent and aggravating for people, which meant that they needed to take their devices to authorized services in order for them to be repaired. But it now seems that things will start to look up, at least according to the group product manager for the Xbox 360 at Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg.

He recently talked with Edge and revealed that the worst of the hardware problems for the Xbox 360 was gone, and now, thanks to the new versions of the console, like the recent Jasper model, which featured better cooling and more streamlined hardware pieces, things will be much smoother for gamers.

“We've improved that [repair] process,” he told Edge. “It's very quick, and they may upgrade your system with the latest technology. So that works really well. What it comes down to is isolating and figuring out the issue, fixing the issue, and the more that we can fix the issue, and know it's fixed, then we're good going forward. We've put the worst behind us on this, but we know there are a few lagging systems, and so we want to take those and make it right.”

So there you have it, Xbox 360 users, it seems that things won't be so bad in the future and your console will hopefully be Red Ring free until the next version of Microsoft's console will arrive, which isn't going to happen for quite some time.
