It's quite a well-known fact that there are quite a few people out there that have so much money, such huge fortunes that they simply begin spending on some of the most idiotic things ever. On the other hand, since there's a serious market demand for exclusive, high-end and luxury products, there are also quite a few companies that provide said products, one of these firms being the Danish company Lantic Systems, which has just announced the release of what could really be the world's most expensive remote controls ever, namely the Gold RC1, which comes in pure gold and costs more than a mid-rage SUV.

According to the company, the Gold RC1 has been modeled after the original RC1 from Lantic Systems and offers the same sleek form factor and cool metallic finish, as well as ease of use that have made the RC1 so popular (well, at least among the rich and overspending, since even the basic RC1 retails for around 1,000 US dollars).

Much like its predecessor, the pure gold remote is designed to work as the control center of the Lantic Entertainment system which offers control over TV/video/dvd, music/CD, internet, e-mail, CCTV, burglary alarm, lights, curtains, air-conditioning and surveillance of navigation systems etc. The technology is designed specifically to match the very expensive and advanced management and entertainment systems, which Lantic Systems is specialized in developing for the mega yachts and the exclusive homes worldwide.

As mentioned earlier, the Gold RC1 comes at an insane price tag, namely around 55,000 US dollars. However, it would seem that there are some people out there rich and crazy enough to go for this thing, as the company informs us that the first orders have already been received, after the device was initially showcased at the METS 2007 Exhibition in Amsterdam, Holland, namely the world's biggest marine equipment trade show.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
