With this increased interest for massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, it was inevitable for them to extend their reach upon more and more genres. After (pseudo) RPGs and strategy games, sports games are next. Game developer SyNET Entertainment has recently announced the release of Shot-Online, the world's first fully 3D, massively multiplayer online golf game for the PC, a game that combines the social aspects of other MMO game with the physics and play mechanics of a serious golf simulator.

Shot-Online allows players to customize their virtual selves and build up their "RPG" statistics while competing against over one million players already playing worldwide. The game also boasts a wondrous proprietary physics engine and golf swings motion captured from real KLPGA golfers to deliver an authentic golf experience, and the best part is that it doesn't require a subscription fee. Right out of the box players get $20 of cybercash, entry into exclusive tournaments and a lottery ticket with a virtual golf clubs set worth $100 as a prize.

"Shot-Online not only simulates the game of golf, but the friendships and camaraderie that surround the game," said Harry Rhim, president of SyNET Entertainment. "Players can enjoy the entire country club experience right from the comfort of their home computer!"
