We'll have to wait a bit more for an enhanced experience

Delays are, unfortunately, part of the gaming world and I doubt we'll ever get used to them - actually, most of them manage to drive us quite mad. As a little round-up of how bad this week has started: we had the Metal Gear Online game delayed yesterday, the PS3 Home Open Beta just got delayed too and now, the highly anticipated The Witcher Enhanced Edition gets delayed as well. Rescheduled to an unannounced date. That is really sad.

But true, since CD Projekt RED has released a press statement confirming it. As usual in such circumstances, the company says that its goal of making The Witcher: Enhanced Edition as close to a flawless product as possible is the reason behind the delay. However, its desire to release the Enhanced Edition worldwide at the same time and the "further polishing" of each language version could be the real reason behind the delay. With over 5000 lines of script being re-written and huge amounts of dialog being re-recorded only in the English version, we know at least that it's going to be a great new experience.

But The Witcher: Enhanced Edition will not only bring us new dialog lines. It promises to be free of the majority of criticism noted by fans and the media in the original version of the game. For example, most of the technical issues will be removed: loading times will be reduced by 80%, stability on various operating systems will be improved, and numerous improvements will be made to enhance fighting precision. Additionally, the product will ship to retail in a value-packed bundle that includes all language versions on a single master disc, the D'jinni Adventure Editor and two official adventures, the official soundtrack, an album of music inspired by The Witcher, a game guide, a map of The Witcher's world and more. Of course, the enhancements will also be available as free downloads for those who already have the game.

Unfortunately, a new release date for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition has not been announced yet, but CD Projekt RED promises to tell us more during the following days.
