The official changelog for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt update 1.01 is now available, at least for the PS4 version, while owners of the Sony console can finally start preloading the game's files ahead of its debut next week, on May 19.

The Witcher 3 is set to launch next week all around the world across the PC, PS4, and Xbox One consoles. In anticipation of the RPG's debut, developer CD Projekt Red has already started allowing those who pre-purchased the digital edition to preload the many different files required by the title.

The Witcher 3 PS4 preload is finally available

PC users were already able to preload at the beginning of the week through both the Steam and the GOG Galaxy clients, and now PS4 owners are also able to begin downloading the necessary files for the RPG.

According to users on Reddit, the game's initial preload size is 9.55GB, but once that initial batch is complete, the title will continue downloading files until it reaches a size of 23.45GB. Then it begins the install process, which takes the final size of the big RPG to 30.99GB.

The day-one patch 1.01 is also available for download

However, that's not the final size of the game, as PS4 owners are also able to download the day-one patch for The Witcher 3, which takes it to version 1.01. The size of the update is 482.1MB, so the full install needs 31.48GB.

A changelog for the update is also available, confirming that the day-one patch support for the 16 free DLC packs fixes for stability issues, and performance improvements that were confirmed yesterday.

Various other fixes for quests, dialog, the journal, or the scenes in the RPG are also included, as well as better AI behavior, improvements to the boat mechanic and the spawning of non-playable characters, not to mention the user interface.

It's unclear if the day-one patch for The Witcher 3 is the same on all platforms but you can expect most of the same fixes.
