Windows – Life without Walls

Sure enough, the Windows operating system is evolving. Microsoft is currently hard at work laboring to produce releases such as Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2), but also Windows 7 client and Windows Server 2008 R2. However, at the same time, the Redmond company's estimated $300 million Windows marketing campaign continues to roll. And the latest addition to the “I'm a PC” roster of faces is Alexa, age 7. As you will be able to see from the video embedded at the bottom of this screen Alexa is demoing the Panoramic Photo capabilities of Windows Live Photo Gallery.

“Alexa is only 7 years old. She's never made a panoramic photo before. She’s a rookie. In just a few quick clicks, she stitched together a panorama of her fort. It's easy at any age with Windows Live Photo Gallery. If Alexa can do it, how about you?” Microsoft asks.

At the start of February 2009, Microsoft moved into the third stage of the Windows campaign. Following the video ads featuring Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld, and the Windows – Life without Walls along with “I'm a PC” phase, the Redmond company is now tweaking the cute factor of Windows. It remains to be seen whether “cute” will actually contribute to the revitalization of the Windows brand, but the new I'm a PC girls are undoubtedly doing a wonderful job sending out the message that in terms of simplicity and ease of use, Windows is right there on par with Apple's Macs.

“Make your own panorama by following these simple steps: start Windows Live Photo Gallery. Connect your camera and transfer your photos to your PC. Choose the photos you want to stitch together. Under the "Make" menu, click "Create Panoramic Photo". Click "E-mail" to send to a few friends or an entire contact group. That’s it. Ready to get started?” Microsoft said.
