Custom Fedora variant for the Linux gamers!

Linux gamers, welcome the Fedora Games Spin, the custom variant of Fedora made just for you! It was created with the goal of demonstrating the gaming potential of the afore-mentioned Linux distribution. At this moment, it is a Live DVD (in the future, the developers might create a Live CD also), but you can also install it on the hard disk or USB flash.

The 3D games come with a dialog box to help new users, when DRI is not available. If you're more into the "underground" gaming scene, you will find some new games too, besides the mainstream ones and you'll get more educational stuff as well. In a future spin, the developers are thinking about a Game Spin specific theme, Firefox bookmarks and release notes.

Here is something about what Fedora Games Spin has prepared for you:

The educational and simulation pack is made of games like Celestia, Stellarium (for those of you who like astronomy and want to know more about planets, stars etc.) , Tuxpaint (a nice drawing program, aimed at children), and if you want to learn a foreign language, Gcompris will help you out.

Frozen-bubble, one of the most beautiful Linux puzzle games, Enigma and Pingus, will please many puzzle-addicted gamers. If you don't like those I've mentioned here, there are more on the Live DVD, so you'll find something that's fit for you.

Shooters, space simulators, strategy games were not left out: Abuse, Wesnoth, Vegastrike and Openarena are only a few of the large number of games on the Live DVD.

The Fedora Games Spin represents one step forward for the Fedora community, proving the fact that Linux can be at the same time fun and educational, and much more user-friendly than most people think.

So, what are you waiting for? Go get your Fedora Games Spin, you'll have lots of fun with it!
