Today is a very bad day to be a fan of The Wanted because the days you can get to see them live on stage and performing / making appearances as an act are numbered. At the end of their current tour, the five boys will be taking some time off.

The announcement comes from the official website of the group and tries to sweeten the pill by saying that The Wanted’s next single and video will be “Glow in the Dark.”

“They are very excited to perform ‘Glow in the Dark” along with their smash singles ‘I Found You,’ ‘Chasing The Sun,’ and ‘Glad You Came,; amongst others for their fans on their upcoming Word of Mouth Tour,” the announcement says.

And then for the unexpected bad news: once the tour is over, this is it for the band, at least for a while. The text says that they will eventually reband but, with these things, there’s never really a sure way of knowing.

“This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour's conclusion. The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future,” the announcement says.

My guess is they’re trying to launch solo careers, as many other boy-band and girl-band members have also tried to do in the past. If they fail or aren’t as successful as anticipated, chances of getting back together will go up.
