Telltale Games fans rejoice, as the first game of the famous game developer, The Walking Dead, has finally arrived on Google Play Store. The game was initially launched in the Amazon Appstore earlier this year, but it was exclusively available for the Kindle Fire.

Thankfully, the folks over at Telltale have released their first masterpiece on Google Play Store for all Android users to experience. Keep in mind though that only the first season is now available for download, whereas season two is expected to be released later on.

For those unfamiliar with the series, The Walking Dead is a five-part series, which is set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s series. The game is well known for the multitude of choices that one can make while unfolding the story.

Depending on your actions, the characters around you may react differently in more than one playthroughs. The protagonist of the first season of The Walking Dead is Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who apparently has been given a second chance at life, but plunges directly into a world wrecked by zombies.

According to developers, The Walking Dead “plays great on NVIDIA SHIELD,” but now that the game has been pushed on Google Play store, many Android users may be wondering how well their devices will run it.

Well, Telltale Games has announced the system requirements for the game and at first glance, they are not that high at all.

The minimum specs required to run The Walking Dead: Season One are represented by any device powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz and an Adreno 200 series, Mali-400 series, PowerVR SGX540, or Tegra 3 graphics processing unit, along with 1GB of RAM.

However, the recommended requirements include a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU and an Adreno 300 series, Mali-T600 series, PowerVR SGX544, or Tegra 4 graphics processing unit, along with 2GB of RAM.

Developers also mention that the game is not available with Android 4.4 KitKat’s ART compiler, so don’t try to run The Walking Dead using this method.

You can now download Walking Dead: Season One for Android for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that only the first episode is available for free, while episodes 2-5 require in-app purchase.

Each episode costs $5, but Telltale Games offers a 40% discount in case you purchase the entire season one. This means that you will be able to grab The Walking Dead: Season One for only $15. The game is only compatible with devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.
