Season 2 of The Walking Dead Game is still set to appear this fall, according to developer Telltale, which just released a statement denying the time frame given by its boss, Dan Connors, of fall 2014.

The Walking Dead game, which appeared last year in the form of 5 downloadable episodes, impressed millions of people from all around the world across platforms like the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or mobile devices.

Even if the first "season" delivered a great experience and managed to end plenty of plot threads depending on the decisions made by players, developer Telltale is now working hard on the second season of the game.

While no actual details were given about this next installment, Telltale boss Dan Connors spoke to Eurogamer at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards and revealed a surprising fall of 2014 release date for season 2 of The Walking Dead.

"We're aiming for fall next year," Connors said, confirming that a new experience will be released in the meantime to help fans endure the wait. "We'll probably have something to announce fairly soon about what we're going to do... It'll be different."

Given the surprising announcement, Game Informer magazine contacted Telltale for an official confirmation about The Walking Dead Season 2.

Fortunately, it seems that Connors' words were misinterpreted, as he meant to say that the first episode in the new season would be released this fall.

"The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of 'this' year (2013), and not 'next' year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale's series."

As of yet, no other details are known about The Walking Dead Season 2.
