Even systems with removable cloth covers can become wireless now

This age's speakers and speaker systems come in various forms and cover a wide range of sound quality, but there are still plenty of people who like older products, due to nostalgia or whatever other reason.

It also bears noting that while Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have become quite widespread on the audio segment, they are still not, exactly, a standard feature of audio output devices.

Being free of cables is still something that everyone would no doubt appreciate, however, especially if there is no sound quality loss.

To make any and all speaker systems wireless, UK-based product designer Paul Cocksedge has created The Vamp.

For those who haven't clicked on that link yet, the item is a project hosted by Kickstarter.

Shaped like a very little cube, it has positive and negative speaker cable connectors, a 3.5mm audio input (for devices that don't have Bluetooth) and a built-in magnet.

The magnet is meant to affix the small cube-like device to the metallic disk included in the package. In turn, the metallic disc can be mounted on any vertical surface (with adhesive foam pad), making placement convenient.

The range of the Bluetooth connection is 10 meters (30 feet) and the peak single-channel amplifier is of 4 watts.

Furthermore, the built-in battery can last for up to 10 hours at a time, maybe even more. Any USB port or adapter can be used to replenish the power. In fact, constant power can be provided through one.

This is an advantage over other wireless adapters, which need constant power because no battery is part of their build.

The retail price, provided the project gets all the funds it needs (very likely), will be of £45 / $68 / 53 Euro. In addition to The Vamp, the package contains a charge cable with line in and USB, the aforementioned metal disc with adhesive foam pad, and a 3.5mm audio jack with two wires.
