The U.S. audience accounts for 21% of all worldwide unique visitors.

According to a study conducted by comScore, an Internet traffic analyst, based on its June World Metrix report, the United States of America is still the incontestable leader in a ranking involving online population. The monthly analysis was released on August 14, 2006, and has taken into account data returned from 2 million consumers surveyed as part of the comScore global cross-section of participants. The study indicates that out of the 712,976,000 unique global visitors, 153,074,000 were U.S. Citizens.

While the U.S. audience accounts for 21% of all worldwide unique visitors, China managed to came in second with 78,310,000 unique visitors translating to a percentage of 11%. 7% of the audience was generated in Japan, the country ranking third with 53,104,000. The following two positions are occupied by European countries - Germany and the U.K. - accounting for 31,977 and 29,832 unique global visitors.
