The rooms are located in the air

Every single kid wants to have his or her tree house, complete with kitchen, lobby, and, if possible, more than one room. Most parents only get to come with a basic structure, but, at a young age, that's better than nothing. Now, constructors in Sweden are building tree houses for mothers and fathers, which are capable of holding about two people, in a construction featuring a tiny kitchen, a living area, a sleeping one, and even a small terrace from where visitors can admire the landscape.

The dwelling, shaped like a cube, will be covered in mirrors, so it will basically reflect everything around it and, if located among other trees, will also be hidden from superficial views. Unfortunately, the designs we have looked at seem to be short of two things, and very important at that, namely a ladder to get to the structure, and a bathroom, which is very likely to upset women, who generally need a toilet in the premises.

The new tree hotel design has been created by Sweden's Tham & Videgard Hansson Arkitekter company, which wanted the conceptual design to fit into a natural environment as neatly as possible. That's why it opted for the construction of only a small cube on every tree, instead of binding several cubes together, to create a larger, more habitable space.

Naturally, the new “rooms” will be impossible to place on short trees, as the branches for the prototype variety have started from very high above. Also, there are a few technical difficulties with getting the construction powered up, as passing electric wires through a tree's canopy is generally not the best idea, and especially during a fierce storm.

Some in Sweden have said that the new design is all well and good, but that, at night, distinguishing the home in the tree could be a bit difficult to do, as would climbing inside, provided that the aforementioned ladder is missing. Moreover, because all the designs look the same, some people might at times find a way to climb in the wrong nest, so to speak, which may cause confusion, or even a kettle bashed over the head, coming from an angry wife with no available toilet.
