And yeah, there's 4 GB of storage space as well

For some unknown reason, quite a lot of people can't simply go for a normal USB flash drive and are ready and willing to pay huge amounts of money for a device whose only merit is to have a blinged-out external casing. And that's the case with the 14k Gold Disk On Key Set With Diamond presented by the Israeli company Livni Design (via its online outlet, e-jewel), as this portable storage solution is clearly aimed at those rich enough in order to be able to spend a "mere" 2000 US dollars on 4 GB of portable memory.

According to the manufacturer, the drive is manufactured out of 14K Gold and set with Diamond 3 points. Moreover, it's handmade by the company's jewelers, and is available only on demand (which was to be expected, after all, as I don't think that the number of people who are actually going to purchase this thing is that high).

Even if its main selling point is the external casing, the device from e-jewel does have some interesting features on the inside as well. Thus, it incorporates a 4 GB NAND Flash chip, as well as a retractable USB connector, which makes the device a lot less prone to damage. Moreover, it sports a bright amber LED, whose purpose is to inform the users regarding the device's current status.

The drive also comes packed with a few software applications, as it supports the U3 platform. Thus, users can run the CruzerSync synchronization software, memorize passwords with the SignupShield password manager, and even make Skype video calls or protect their computer against viruses with the Avast antivirus software.

The 14k Gold Disk On Key Set With Diamond is also very portable, as it measures around 7 mm x 20 mm x 57.1 mm, at a weight or around 26 grams. Moreover, it's USB 2.0 certified and works with Windows 2000, SP4 and XP. What, no Vista? And I'd though that Bill Gates would be one of the first to get himself one of these things.....

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
