Here's another 80s sequel that is going to probably ruin your childhood dreams. For those of us who grew up in that decade, “Top Gun” was the quintessential action movie and one that got every little boy dreaming to become a fighter pilot.

Jerry Bruckheimer had a sit down with Huffington Post to talk about his new book “Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightning Strikes, Four Decades of Filmmaking,” and he disclosed that this sequel has been in the works ever since the original came out “We've been trying to get that movie made for 30 years, and I think we're getting closer and closer.”

According to Jerry, Tony Scott, the original director of the movie gave out some plot outlines before his death in 2012. “The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they're not obsolete. They're here to stay.”

The only issues with the movie, as with any other big Hollywood production, is time and money, “It's just getting to the starting place. Fortunately for Tom, he's very busy, so you have to find a slot he can fit into and get a budget that Paramount feels they can make the picture.”
