The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are delivering a new video for their upcoming The Sims 4, which is designed to show the new features added to the Build Mode and how they can help the player create their perfect house.

The two companies are aiming to make it easier for players to put together a building quickly using pre-made elements at first, while also offering them plenty of opportunities to then tweak the design and add a personal touch to the entire process.

John Berges, a producer working on The Sims 4, explains that Maxis wants to make a more open game that gives each player the possibility to create the house of their dreams.

The team adds, “Build Mode in The Sims 4 will allow you push and pull the size of the rooms, drag and drop objects, and pick and place styled rooms directly from an in-game catalog.”

Maxis has already said that it plans to introduce more items, each of them with better detail, in The Sims 4 and that depending on his life choices, each player will have access to a subset suited to his personality and his traits.

The new title in the long-running life-simulation series aims to use improved technology and a new engine to deliver an experience that adds more options for the player, while also making the entire world he explores more believable.

The focus this time around will be on the emotions that characters are expressing and the effect they have on others.

The Create-a-Sim mode is also improved and offers more choices when it comes to both the cosmetic side and the personality of the avatar.

Maxis says that even negative emotions in The Sims 4 can be used to enhance the life of a character and that various interactions are only available based on current state of mind and on the relationships that a Sim has.

The company also claims that the game will run better on low-end systems than the previous installment in the franchise and that no Internet connection will be required to launch the game.

The Sims 4 will be released at an yet undisclosed date this fall and will be initially only offered on the PC, although the two companies working on it will probably also port it to the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony later.
