A new expression of the cellular phone

When thinking about a KDDI mobile phone, the first thing that crosses one's mind is a nice design. The second thing that would cross one's mind would be the hi-tech features it comes with. Well, in the case of this mobile phone, designed by Nao Tamura - a Japanese designer whose clients include OXO, Nike or Issey Miyake - features are clearly not as important as the design.

According to its designer the Cypres mobile phone resembles "the view of a snow-covered town beautiful, when a colorful and precise semi-conductor material is covered with one skin, it shows a new expression."

While the description is more poetic than to the point, knowing that a picture's worth a thousand words, each will have their own opinion on what this phone resembles, be it a snow-covered town or something completely different.

Keeping it simple, the phone comes with a see-through case, which allows you to see the phone's circuitry. It comes with a camera and Bluetooth as well as several other features, but it's pretty clear that the Cypres phone is more about design.

It was created for KDDI au, and if concept phones from other parts of the world are nice, well, the Japanese concept phones are simply different from anything you've ever seen before. The phone is included in the lineup of phones for the au Design Project as well as the recently released Media Skin.

And while the Media Skin phone was only a concept a couple of years ago, and now it has become an actual product, chances are that the Cypres mobile phone will also be available to the public soon.
