Russia wants new laws

During a conference that took place in London related to the online lawbreaking phenomenon, a Russian police member has publicly declared that Russian hackers are the best in the world.

Boris Miroshnikov, the author of this statement, works within the K department from Russia where he handles the investigation of cybernetic frauds.

Miroshnikov didn't say anything new, the experience and skill of the Russian hackers have been known and acknowledged for several years in the international community. However, the reason why Boris stated that is to point out the multitude of problems caused by these virtual space geniuses.

Miroshnikov emphasized the need of focusing more attention on teenage hackers who go through a veritable school where they refine their hacking techniques and once they get older they become worthy opponents to any programmer in the world.

If until now, all they did was to illegally copy CDs and DVDs, now every hacker has the ability of supporting himself and even of obtaining important sums of money by hacking into bank accounts or stealing personal information.

Through the voice of Miroshnikov, Russia asked for help, outlining the need for establishing a set of internationally appliable rules to allow the authorities all around the world to make arrests and to penalize. Each year, the number of attacks doubles and the first time authorities managed to stop the hackers was this year but due to the absence of a well defined legislation their efforts were futile.

The Russians have been accused of denial-of-service attacks on English betting sites, which requested the improving of security conditions offered by the Internet suppliers.
