Your new portable audio

Most likely, you've never heard about the industrial design student named Joonas Saaranen, but in any case, now's the perfect time to know him. And not necessarily because of what he is but for what he does: creating nifty gadgets to make our lives happier - and his latest contraption is the Reppo II backpack boombox. This rather intriguing audio solution is his BA project and by far, one of the neatest among its class: we're talking about a no-nonsense audio system fitting on your back, just like a backpack, allowing you to effectively share your music with the rest around you.[admark=1]

In simpler words, the Reppo II is a hardshell backpack with a very cool, streamlined design, loaded with an amplifier and two full-range speakers, capable to put out quite a blast with any music source you might have, iPods and other portable players included. The funniest thing is that as the Reppo II is so far a prototype and there is absolutely no data whether Joonas would ever consider having this backpack produced in mass, I know at least a dozen people who would just die to get this unique ghettoblaster on their shoulders.

Despite the initial silly look, the Reppo II is one of the truly functional solution for music "pret-a-porter" as it's handy and comfortable to wear. Even more, the backpack can even store some of your small belongings, and it definitely can house some beer bottles in case you plan to use the Reppo II as a party starter.

Until now, there is no official data on its output power ratings, types of batteries being used to bring it to life or frequency range specs for the maniacs out there; in any case, having the Reppo II equipped with a bi-amping system and an additional subwoofer for a more solid sonic blast could bring back the old-fashion gehttoblaster times once more. Yet, I don't even want to think about a Reppo II-based audio duel between some determined people!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
