Fill-in glasses, to match with pretty much any clothing style

Eye glasses are – beyond any shadow of a doubt – a fashion item and there are a lot of people who are really careful when it comes to matching the clothing style needed for a certain situation with a specific pair of glasses, accentuating a desired visual effect. Now, it would be ridiculous to have a dressing room split in two, one side for shoes and clothes and all sorts of other accessories, and the other one full of all sorts of glasses for beach, a casual walk in the park, receptions, weddings and pretty much anything that comes in our lives.

Well, Portuguese designer Luis Porem thought that there may be more to a simple pair of glasses than meets the eye. And much to the surprise of the Opus Awards audience, he also proved that he was right.

The RbG Glasses, with RbG being a short version for "rainbow glasses", are indeed one thing that crosses multiple borders, in terms of fashion and design, outside the box thinking and functionality, and much more. The working principle is as simple as it is fun: the structure of these eyeglasses is hollow and sports and inner channel through which a fluid can flow.

Technically, the wearer must fill the eyeglasses with a water-based ink in his/her color of choice and thus be able to quickly jump from a very sober pair of black glasses to a more fashionable red one, or to go funky with bright yellow or crude green ones, as well. The ink should definitely be water-based because this type of ink can be easily and completely washed away, so that your next color will be pure and not contaminated by the former one(s). And of course, you can mix colors together until you get the most fantastic nuances to wear.

The sole drawback of Luis Porem's RbG Glasses could be their shape, which is impossible to alter. But we might be asking a tad too much from these already very versatile spectacles, because they're made for show-off. Kudos to Mr. Porem!
