Impressive list hosted by Wikipedia

Google owns two of the most popular products on the Internet, Maps and Earth, allowing users to view satellite maps and other imagery with the entire world. Because it shows every corner of the world, the search giant blurred or even removed certain locations to avoid a malicious use of the photos. Although Google refuses to mention the blurred locations, the users are always out there and seeking for information. That's why some Wikipedia members wrote articles hosted on the website that present all the blurred locations in Google Maps.

As you can see in the picture attached to the article, the places mentioned on Wikipedia are really blurred by Google, probably for some security reasons. In the past, both Google Maps and Google Earth were involved in some security problems caused by the detailed images displayed by the services. The first case was reported a long time ago when the terrorists were using the products to organize attacks against the UK troops located in Basra. At that time, the search giant agreed to remove the pictures and replaced them with older ones captured before the departure of the army in the area.

Then, Google received several demands to remove certain pictures from the page, especially from India because Google Earth displayed high-resolution photos with secret locations. Google always agreed on the demands and removed the pictures.

Although it is quite useful information, it seems like the Wikipedia article will be deleted soon as the page is currently considered for removal. According to a notification published on Wikipedia, the article is infringing the company's guidelines and can be removed soon. However, remember that censoring certain locations is quite a logical decision because the malicious use of the detailed photos is accessible to any user in the world.
