The system hit a glitch, and the digital product isn't available anymore

When Blizzard launched its Pet Store last week, two special little creatures made up the list. The first was the Pandaren Monk, while the second was Lil' K.T. As two sides of a single story, the two pets are completely opposed as characters. The first is a peaceful, well-mannered bear, while the other is a malicious, deviant, vertically challenged necromancer. If you haven't managed to browse the store yet and pick up a companion for your World of Warcraft characters, you can do that now, but the offer isn't what it once used to be.

If you're looking to make a purchase from Blizzard's Pet Store, you need to know that you don't really have a choice regarding what to buy. You can get the Lil' K.T., and Lil' K.T. alone, as the Pandaren Monk has been sold out. If you can't wrap your head around the idea of an item that is, at least in theory, in unlimited supply having sold out, then don't worry, the rest of the world is facing the same conundrum as you are. It's a bit of an intriguing fact indeed, and the only thing one can think of is that this must have something to do with Blizzard's sales policy.

When it first offered the item for sale, Blizzard announced that 50 percent of its sale value would be donated to the Make a Wish foundation. Since the item can't literally sell out, it makes one think that, indeed, too many Pandaren Monks were sold, but the reason the company stopped the distribution was that it had reached the conclusion that it had given too much money to charity.

Reality is more logical than speculations, but it's a lot less fun. Blizzard's official story is that there appears to be an error in the system, one that, apparently, mistook infinity with zero for the Pandaren Monk stock. The company posted on its official forum that it was "looking into it," but, until then, there's no more Pandaren Monks for you and no more 50 percent of their value being donated to the foundation.
