Were you waiting for an article that is not about an MP3 playing, digital camera enabled multimedia phone? Well you've got it and Dopod is the company that has managed to fulfill your wish. They launched a new mobile computer-like handset, the P800W, a phone that closely resembles the HTC Artemis but has a big plus on its side: the integrated GPS chipset that will guide you throughout the day and will help you arrive in time for any appointments you may have.

The quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE enabled smartphone has a Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC operating system, running on a TI OMAP 850 processor that goes around the clock with a frequency of 200 MHz, and also comes equipped with a 2 megapixel digital camera, a GPS SiRF Star III receiver and an integrated GPS antenna that form a GPS navigation system operated with a track ball and trackwheels to bring you an easier map browsing and a more smooth web surfing experience.

It also provides its user with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8 240x320 QVGA 65k colors TFT LCD touchscreen, that come in the same package as the integrated FM radio, the media center, the audio manager, the audio booster and the Wi-Fi connectivity.

To cut the story short, the phone will be available in Hong Kong and Taiwan this November, but the rest of us that don't reside in Asia just have to hope that this device will get very popular so the guys from Dopod will decide to let us taste a slice of the P800W until it isn't too late.
