Not too long ago, a Japanese manufacturer introduced the world to a notebook that will forever transform the experience of writing for those who decide to buy it and use it to scribble down one idea or another.

First off, one very important clarification is in order: this notebook is not a state-of-the-art teeny tiny and mindbogglingly skinny laptop computer. It's a regular notebook made up of sheets of paper in between two covers.

Now that this is out of the way, it must be said that the notebook, which goes by the name the Onion Note, is the brain child of Japan-based manufacturer Magnus Ferreus, Oddity Central informs.

The company's current CEO, i.e. a guy identified as Thomas, explains that, despite its name, the notebook does not smell like onions. It does, however, possess the ability to turn people into cry-babies.

This ability is due to the fact that its pages all carry compounds that can also be found in onion oil on them. It is these compounds that toy with the tear ducts of folks writing in the Onion Note and make them cry even if they have nothing to cry about.

Those looking to get their act together and finally dry their eyes after crying their heart out while writing down a recipe for apple pie or something equally dull and unemotional would do well not to rip any of the notebook's pages.

This is because, whenever left without be it just one of its sheets of paper, the Onion Note releases even more allyl propyl compounds whose effect Magnus Ferreus claims is very much similar to having tear-inducing gas blown in one's face.

For the time being, it is unclear when exactly the Onion Note will become available for the general public to buy and cry over. However, since the notebook was showcased in Japan and its manufacturer is a Japanese company, chances are it will first be released in this part of the world.

In case anyone was wondering, Magnus Ferreus decided to create the Onion Note in an attempt to make the task of having to write down various things a tad more dramatic. “The Onion Note, it breaks new ground. And we promise it will bring you a completely new sensation,” CEO Thomas says.

Ads intended to boost the Onion Note's popularity are already circulating online. One of these ads is available below and many agree that, although it shows a guy crying his heart out while attempting to write “NY is a big city,” it is pretty hilarious.
