It's the most ambitious MMO project in development at the moment and probably one of the most expensive so the developers and publishers of Star Wars: The Old Republic are eager to show fans what their new game will be offering even if the actual launch date is not yet set in stone and limited numbers of players have actually seen the game in action.

Now the people at BioWare have unveiled a new location for the MMO, the moon of Nar Shaddaa, which orbits the planet of Nal Hutta. The locations are ruled by old Hutt families that are fighting a tough war against the Exchange Syndicate, a rival criminal organization. The conflict and the reputation of the moon attracts a wide variety of shadowy characters, from bounty hunters and criminals to Sith hunting persons of interested and Jedi that are seeking notorious wanted men. The look of Nar Shaddaa is built around the wealth of the Hutt clans, which lead to the building of impressive structures but there's more to the moon than meets the eye.

The official description for Nar Shaddaa reads, “For all the opulence above, however, an equal level of brutality lies below. The bowels of Nar Shaddaa hide some of the galaxy’s darkest secrets. In the pursuit of advanced technologies, unscrupulous enterprises conduct hazardous experiments on unwilling test subjects and crime lords employ slaves as fodder on industrial assembly lines. Fugitives hide from the law after committing heinous crimes, and prisoners who’ve vanished from all over the galaxy are held in anonymous and inescapable private prisons.”

Star Wars: The Old Republic will introduce quite a few features that are unusual for the MMO genre. The BioWare made title will offer complex narratives for all characters classes and all the dialog will be voiced in order to give the player the immersion into the game universe that he needs.
