Vimeo has launched its official iOS application, confirming compatibility with iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. The app is a 20MB download that requires iOS 4.0.1 or later.

“It’s finally here: the OFFICIAL Vimeo iPhone app!”, announces Vimeo.

“We’ve packed all the best parts of Vimeo into one app! Now you can upload, edit, manage and watch your videos right from your iPhone,” the company states.

Vimeo touts its newly released app as the best way to get your videos online in the highest quality.

The statement should hold some water as the Vimeo app boasts a cool video editor that lets you capture video with focus control and grid alignment, combine, edit, and trim your videos, as well as add transitions, titles, effects, music and even recordings.

Users can easily save edited videos to their camera roll or upload directly to Vimeo.

You can pause and resume uploads, replace existing videos, edit your videos’ titles, description, tags, privacy and credits, or share on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, WordPress (even by email and SMS), all from within the app.

In addition to watching videos from the Vimeo inbox, the Watch Later queue, or videos you have liked, you can also comment and add videos to your lists, and discover new content in the Browse tab.

“This is just the beginning!”, Vimeo says. “We’ve spent a lot of time on this and we hope you like it.”

The company promises to deliver regular updates with feature improvements, more music, effects and any other features recommended by the user base.
