European fans should be really excited since Koei has just announced that the highly anticipated PC game Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI will be released on the 5th of September this year. The game combines political maneuvering with city building and tactical warfare, offering a truly unique experience to players of all ages - especially if they are fans of the strategy genre. If you want to ease the pain of waiting, you can head over to the official website of the game and download the free demo for RTK XI.

The game comes from legendary game producer Kou Shibusawa and promises to be a true masterpiece. Set in China, during the end of the Han Dynasty and the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD, the game is said to push the boundaries to maximum and blur the line between entertainment and art.

You will become a ruler of a kingdom and thus be granted complete control over your territories. More than 40 base commands will give you the power to govern cities, manage their personnel, practice diplomacy, and many more. You'll have complete freedom to build your provinces the way you see fit, by constructing markets, shipyards, outposts, forts, and train military units in barracks. And everything will be accompanied by no less than 780 different characters you will meet and interact with on your way to greater glory - and these numbers probably make RTK XI one of the most complex games of its kind.

The combat part of the game brings up a turn based battlefield where players will be able to plan their movements and attacks without any time constraints, then execute the tactics. Romance of the Three Kingdoms also introduces a new research system for military techniques or a brand new ATS (advanced tactics system) which allows you to lure enemies into ambushes. A great title, overall!
