New Disney campaign pleads for silence in the movie theater

It’s normal to expect complete silence in movie theaters especially during the movie, but that doesn’t mean you’re actually going to get it. Enter the Muppets and AMC and their brand new PSA.

While theater chains like Alamo Drafthouse take this anti-talking and anti-texting rule very seriously, few others do. AMC wants to set an example.

The PSA just released, featuring the Muppets, invites moviegoers to “resist the urge” and not use the phone while inside. Or their microwave oven, since they can get popcorn at the concession stand either way.

Of course, this PSA also doubles as a trailer of sorts, for the new Muppets film from Disney, which drops on November 23 this year.

It may not work when it comes to convincing rude moviegoers to forget they even own a cell phone (or said microwave oven) during the movie, but at least it’s entertaining.
