And that about sums it up

Creating a portable storage solution that combines a very "blingy", "shiny" and attractive external casing with very large storage capacities seems to be a very popular trend among technology designers, since most USB flash drives launched lately can be included in the aforementioned category. And that's also the case with the latest such device from TwinMos, the MobileDisk X1 model, which provides storage capacities of up to 8 GB, as well as a mirror-like exterior.

Since the external design is perhaps the main selling point in the case of X1, it's important to note that the portable storage solution (which measures 44.3 x 4.7 x 7.3 mm) features a 360-degree revolving metal cap with a reflective surface, which protects the USB connector against shocks. Furthermore, the device sports several other useful design features, as for example the hook, which can be used for turning the X1 into some form of pendant, as well as the specially shaped LED activity indicator light, which looks just like a gem (although there's really nothing precious about it).

Like most other USB flash drives recently released on the market, the X1 model from TwinMos also comes packed with an optional software package that provides a couple of useful functions. For example, the X1 includes a partition manager, a bookmark manager, a flash mail manager, a boot manager and even a PC lock manager, all of them allowing the users to protect their data, lock-down their own computer as well as work on any computer without ever leaving a trace.

Another important feature of the new portable storage solution from TwinMos is the fact that it supports quite a wide range of operating systems, including here WinME/2000/XP/Vista, Mac 10.1+ and Linux 2.4+. Furthermore, as all the devices from this family, it connects to a host computer via the ubiquitous USB2.0 interface, which means that users can access data at speeds of up to 480 Mbps across all platforms.

Unfortunately, no pricing or availability details have been released for the time being, which means that we'll just have to wait and see just how soon this thing will actually arrive in stores.
