Tryout

The release of a game, especially if the title was successful, became lately some sort of an event almost as important as a movie preview. In our case, the red carpet becomes a testing account valid for the virtual universe newcomer, or sometimes by a CD/DVD containing a beta/demo/preview version of the expected game.

And when it comes to a game like The Matrix Online, an account ensuring a sneak preview is more than attractive to any gamer.

This is why Interactive and SEGA thought to give one solution to two problems: they announced that starting on March 12 they will provide free accounts for The Matrix Online, valid until March 15. The official release was announced for March 22.

Meanwhile the tryout period is also planned to be used for beta testing, which means manufacturers hope there will scarcely be any bugs, since one week is too short for remedying major problems.

The bad news is that there is a limited number of accounts available; no numbers were revealed in relation to how many users could gain access.

The accounts are to be provided by GameSpot and FilePlanet, but those willing to register need not be members of these websites. In order to get an account, one needs an e-mail address and a credit card. During the beta testing there will be no charges, but 10 cents are to be blocked on the credit card until the account expires.

Afterwards an account valid for 60 days will cost $29.99.

The Matrix Online continues the story of the Matrix universe from where the last movie in the series ends.
