The latest model in the SPV line, the M700 is finally available through the Orange mobile phone operator in the UK. Aside from the white version of the handheld that everyone knew about, the availability of a black version has also been confirmed.

Just like its brothers from the SPV family, the M700 packs a lot of features including a 2.8 inch 65k color screen with a 240 x 320 (QVGA) resolution, 2.1 megapixel camera as well as a VGA camera on the front for video calling.

It is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with all the usual Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint that will allow the user to easily view and edit documents on their mobile phone.

Due to its 3G capabilities it allows data rates of up to 1.8 Mbps. The wireless networks supported include EDGE, UMTS, GPRS and WiFI.

Other than that, the handheld also comes with built-in Sat Nav, and will allow the use of the Sat Nav service from Orange. Sat Nav is powered by Webraska and all maps and live traffic will be held on a general server. They can be easily downloaded onto the mobile device from the Internet via WiFi, GPRS or over the Orange EDGE network.

The service was initially only available to business users but as of now all types of customers will be able to take advantage of it. Customers that would like to get themselves a SPV M700 can now find it both at Orange shops and on the mobile operator's website. The handheld is free for customers that sign a contract over ?35.
