Turbine is announcing that it is getting ready to move into the third volume of the Lord of the Rings experience, which is trying to offer via its MMO with the launch of the first book, called Oath of the Rangers. The company is not saying when it is preparing to launch the fresh content but it is ready to share that it involves four new Skirmishes in the Necromancer Tower and a trip to the Depths of Nurz Ghashu.

The official site of the MMO says that “Yet an adventurer’s work is never done. As the Fellowship begins its journey South, a message is delivered that the future king needs his allies. The Rangers, powerful fighters and strong defenders of the Free Peoples, must prepare to ride to the aid of their leader. But they are a reduced and scattered band, and you must marshal them quickly so that they can help the king find his destiny.”

The official titles of Volume 3 will be Allies of the King and one of the interesting changes of Book 1: Oath of the Rangers will be that players can craft items up to level 65. There are also new class items for the Weaponsmiths and Woodworker, crops for the Artisan, Master, and Superior Farmers and new recipes for the Cooks.

The four new skirmishes introduced will see the player facing a very capable Olog-Hai, rescuing elves, which are being tortured in a dungeon, manning the catapults in order to defend Thangulhad and fighting nightmare like creatures as they seek a Ringwraith.

The Lord of the Rings Online continues to work around the fact that they cannot directly tackle the journey of the Ringbearers by offering players the chance to see the battle between good and evil, and it seems that players are content to follow this strategy judging by the new level player base of the MMO.
