Officially, it's being named “Lego Movie 2” and it's the sequel to the highly successful computer animation “Lego Movie,” which has rocked the box office over the last weeks. It went on to earn several hundred million dollars internationally after only two weeks and it's still going strong.

As the movie is still earning money for the studio, Warner Bros. has already announced that it will be making a sequel and that it's going to be released on May 26, 2017, according to Screenrant.

The script is said to be penned by Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan, while the original fell into the capable hands of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who also directed the production. At this point, it's unclear whether the duo will be making its return to helm the sequel, but it's very possible that they will be returning as producers.

Part of the success of the film was owed to its amazing voice cast made up of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrel, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. So far, there hasn't been any word if any of them will be making a return to the recording booths.
