As some of you might know, before their scheduled wedding this May, the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West couple is currently involved in a bitter legal battle with one of the co-founders of YouTube, Chard Hurley, whom they are accusing of having leaked video of their engagement and thus caused them financial losses.

Today, Radar is revealing that the couple doesn't want to settle out of court and have the money going to charity, opting to keep the sizable donation for themselves. They allegedly refused all offers from the Hurley camp for a hefty donation to a charity of their choice, and instead demanded that the money be paid to them directly.

It seems the rapper and the reality star are either very strapped for cash or want to add a few more figures to their bank account because it is said that they will not settle for anything else other than a personal payment.

“Chad wanted to make a donation to a charity just to make it go away,” says a source close to the case, “But Kim and Kanye didn’t want the money to go to a charity, they want it to go directly to them.”

The entire matter revolves around the fact that Hurley used his phone to tape the very exclusive engagement ceremony that was supposed to be an exclusive presented on E! and later leaked it online. This triggered a lawsuit from the family who now claims they lost a ton of money because the video no longer presented interest to the public.

Hurley meanwhile can surely afford any lawsuit claim he's being slapped with, because his website YouTube was sold to Google for several billion.

This isn't the first time Kim is caught getting just a bit greedy. Last year, in December, she was blasted by the media for only donating 10% of her eBay auction that she announced with great fanfare was going to be directed at helping the Philippines typhoon relief.

Before the action, she urged people to buy her items on sale as a “proceed” from the auction was going to go to the charity in the Philippines, but people were shocked when it turned out that it was going to be just 10%.

From the looks of things, Kim is very touchy when it comes to her finances as well as being fiercely protective at the slightest sign they might be in danger.
